Currently, 13 million people are in urgent need of emergency aid, representing more than half of Syria’s population. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, about 7 million people are internally displaced, with many having been forced to leave their homes multiple times to escape the fighting.
In refugee camps, conditions are critical. Those affected are living in inhumane conditions, facing severe shortages of essential goods. Food and water must often be purchased outside the camps at extremely high prices, and potable water sources are frequently unavailable.
