Hoffnung schenken: Verteilung von Lebensmitteln und Schulrucksäcken in Malaysia

Giving Hope: Distribution of Food and School Backpacks in Malaysia

News

Giving Hope: Distribution of Food and School Backpacks in Malaysia Giving Hope Giving Hope: Distribution of Food and School Backpacks in Malaysia As part of the ongoing global humanitarian efforts by Barakah Charity, we carried out a successful distribution campaign in several communities in Malaysia. The aim was to support families in need with food supplies and bring joy to children by giving them new school backpacks. Living Conditions and Challenges Poverty has worsened in Malaysia in recent years, particularly due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and rising living costs. Refugees are especially affected. Over 100,000 Rohingya refugees currently live in Malaysia, making up around 60% of all UNHCR-registered refugees and asylum seekers in the country. Most reside in Kuala Lumpur under precarious conditions without formal refugee status, education, healthcare, legal employment, or basic services. In addition to the Rohingya, Malaysia also hosts refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, and Sri Lanka. These groups make up about 12% of the registered refugees. They too often lack legal status and rely on humanitarian aid. Food for Families in Need Due to the economic challenges many Malaysian families face, we put together aid packages with essential food items – rice, oil, flour, canned goods, and hygiene products – for both local people and refugees. Over 1,000 families in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur were reached through this campaign. Our team handed out the packages personally, with a focus on respectful and dignified treatment. We received warm welcomes; many locals took pictures with us. Numerous families expressed deep gratitude – this support makes a real difference in their daily lives. This gratitude is for you, dear donor. Backpacks for the Future Another focus was supporting children from low-income families. In collaboration with local communities, we distributed hundreds of high-quality backpacks filled with school supplies and hygiene products. For many children, it was the first time they had their own new backpack – a small step that greatly boosts motivation and self-esteem. The colorful backpacks lit up their faces with joy. In a small room used as a learning space for Rohingya children – lacking child-friendly facilities and with poor sanitation – such joy becomes especially meaningful because moments like these are so rare. Stronger Together This initiative would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors. Your donations had a direct impact and brought hope to many. We will continue to support disadvantaged communities in Malaysia – with heart, action, and a clear goal: a fairer world for all. Donate Now! Your donation makes a difference. Support education, protection, and social aid in Malaysia – every bit counts.

Dhul Hijjah 2025 Dates Germany: Hajj, Arafah & Eid al-Adha Guide

News

Dhul Hijjah 2025 Dates Germany Dhul Hijjah 2025 Dates Germany When is Dhul Hijjah 2025 in Germany Dhul Hijjah, the sacred month in the Islamic lunar calendar, encompasses the Day of Arafah and Bajram/Opferfest (Eid al‑Adha)—the highlights of devotion and sharing. Here you’ll find the key dates for 2025 and learn how to support our Iftar and Kurban campaigns.   Key Dates for Dhul Hijjah 2025 in Germany Dhul Hijjah Begins: May 28, 2025 First Ten Days: May 28 – June 6, 2025 Day of Arafah (9th Dhul Hijjah): June 5, 2025 Eid al-Adha (10th Dhul Hijjah): June 6, 2025 Note: These dates are based on astronomical calculations; local moon sightings in Germany may adjust the calendar. Always confirm with your local mosque.   The First Ten Days & Hajj in Germany The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah—May 28 to June 6, 2025—are the most important days of the year for worship, as the Prophet ﷺ said, “There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days” (Sahih al‑Bukhari 969). Whether you’re on Hajj or observing at home in Germany, use this time for intensified prayer, fasting, and reflection—and consider donating Iftar meals to share their blessings with those in need.   Day of Arafah and Fasting Benefits The Day of Arafah on June 5, 2025 is the climax of the Hajj pilgrimage and highly significant for Muslims. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts on the Day of Arafah will have their past and future sins forgiven” (Sahih Muslim). It is the perfect time to pray, fast, and meditate together as a community. Donate Iftar for Arafah to feed refugees and families in need.   Eid al-Adha & Kurban Support Eid al-Adha on June 6, 2025 commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) obedience to Allah. Although kurban sacrifice cannot be performed in Germany, you can support vulnerable communities in Asia, Africa, Yemen, or refugees by sharing the spirit of sacrifice.Consider offering your Kurban to extend the blessings beyond local borders. Local Observance and Planning Stay informed through your local mosques and Islamic centers in Germany, as regional moon sightings may slightly adjust these dates. Early planning is essential—whether for Hajj, fasting on the Day of Arafah, or celebrating Eid al-Adha. May this concise guide help you navigate Dhul Hijjah 2025 in Germany with clarity and purpose. Adjust the dates as needed based on local announcements, and may your observance bring spiritual fulfillment and the joy of giving.

Eröffnung des Bildungszentrums in Marokko

Opening of the education center in Morocco

News

Opening of the education center in Morocco Opening of the education center in Morocco Opening of the education center in Morocco The journey from Marrakech was long and arduous. Mountain roads centimetres away from the abyss, ankle-high water and stony stretches. We drive to Imindounit, which translates as the end of life, the end of the world. This is where the Amazigh village, which was badly damaged by the earthquake, is located – literally at the end of the world.Shortly before the last narrowing of the road between two mountains in the huge and majestic Atlas Mountains, we have to leave the smaller support vehicle of our two-man tandem behind. Some of our team have to walk 1.5 km from here. No one drives past by chance, the place is not on any route where you would accidentally end up and, to be honest, we wonder how it is even known that there are people here – people live so far away from the action. There, at the “end of the world”, Swiss Barakah Charity has opened a center – a place for education and social life. From now on, the Amazigh community’s center will provide children with tutoring and adults will be able to shape the social life of the village. In beautiful, clean, bright and cool rooms with sanitary conditions in keeping with human dignity. We are received in the Imindounit with dates and milk, with singing, food and an abundance of joy and gratitude. This expression of gratitude belongs to you, dear donor. You have thought of people in need and made life easier for many people far away with your donation. You can continue to help people in Morocco with your donation. Link here.

Hinter den Kulissen unserer Arbeit

Behind the scenes of our work

News

Behind the scenes of our work Behind the scenes of our work Behind the scenes of our work In the 5 years of the Swiss Barakah Charity’s existence, we have gained a lot of experience and now have a wealth of expertise in humanitarian work worldwide. Nevertheless, people, their living conditions and their needs are so different that we too are constantly faced with new situations and therefore new challenges. For example, the distances we have to travel to reach people in remote places around the world. The routes often go through mountains, with unsecured, steep precipices and deep ravines along the way. Our teams in the war prayers are exposed to constant, real danger to their lives. In earthquake or flood zones, where we usually arrive immediately after the disasters, our working environment is rubble and devastation. The psychological aspect is always there too, as our teams are very often in the face of death, loss, disease, abject poverty and suffering.Simple food distribution can also be a challenge. When it comes to pure survival, you can’t expect any consideration. And even the best organizational measures taken in advance can become obsolete under certain circumstances and require rapid, operational reorganization. We never know 100% exactly what the situation will be like on the ground and our teams have already experienced dangerous situations and had to react at lightning speed. As the saying goes, we grow with our challenges. Over the last few years, we have also grown a great deal with the challenges of our work. We have learned to plan even more precisely, more extensively and with more foresight in order to ensure the safety of our teams and to always preserve the dignity of the people receiving your donations.Despite great challenges, we are always aware of our mission – to help people who desperately need it – and we keep the focus on the positive aspects. Because a smile on people’s faces, a glimmer of hope in their eyes and relief in their hearts are worth every challenge.

Zakat- und Lebensmittelverteilung in Indien.

Zakat and food distribution in India

News

Zakat and food distribution in India Zakat and food distribution in India Education for children in Slams Your Zakat and numerous food parcels have reached the people of Mumbai. We are very happy to have helped so many people. Thanks to your donations, people were provided with the most necessary food for several weeks. For many families, this help is essential for survival. The emergency situation in India remains great. Several million people live in slums here. In Mumbai alone, there are over 1,000 slums with an estimated 5 million people. A large proportion of these are children. Living conditions there are extremely difficult due to a lack of infrastructure, sanitary facilities, limited access to healthcare and education, and child labor is widespread. Seeing the conditions on the ground takes its toll on us. Just like the smiles of the people living in these conditions. During our missions, we often ask ourselves whether we would still be able to smile under similar circumstances. Hardly. We learn joy and friendliness from people living in abject poverty. This cannot be taken for granted in a life with a difficult daily routine and no prospects for the future. Together, we want to continue to help improve the lives of people in India – both in their everyday lives by providing the necessary goods and in the long term by promoting education. Educational projects that offer today’s children prospects for a better tomorrow are already being planned. And even if the number of people in need is alarmingly high, every improved life counts. And every long-term improvement is multiplied by improving the living conditions of families and even communities. Donate for people in India. Link here.
